Ancient Aliens TV Series

There are a number of books on various 'Ancient Aliens' theories. The quality of these books varies greatly in the amount of evidence that they put forward(if any in some cases). As with any controversial topic there is always fantastic speculation mixed with actual evidence to support theory. I'm always skeptical about topics regarding alien life-forms. Millions claim personal encounters with extra-terrestrial beings without being able to substantiate their claims. It's annoying because it dilutes any message for the general populace that is based on any serious inquiry of the topic. There are scientists and people of reputable character who do not make unfounded claims of their personal encounters with aliens. Instead these people have approached the topic seeking hard evidence and have done so carefully for decades. Some of it is not very compelling, some of it deserves closer inspection and, well, there is a body that is simply outright compelling.

Recently deciding to watch the first episode of this series, I was honestly wary. I've seen my fair share of garbage TV 'documentaries' on the theory of aliens. I was surprised after watching the first 45 minutes of the first episode. The second was even better. Many people will be surprised by the list of credible scientists that are quoted in this series, Francis Crick(co-discoverer of the structure of the DNA molecule in 1953) for example, among a number of reputable contemporary scientists from many fields. Even so there are still some 'rational' academics that I've had disagreements with about Francis Cricks' theory of directed panspermia or even panspermia. It's clear that many academics are just as irrational as any religious folks that they might berate. Many academics refuse to look at the evidence honestly and even from a Nobel Prize Winner who in some cases defined the field that they base their life's work on.

Anyway, check out the series, it's also on Netflix. Even if it's not convincing for you, watching for the interest in mythology is quite entertaining on it's own.
