Blueberry / Renegade (2004)
A french film(English dialogue) in the "acid western" genre. Greats include "Dead Man (1995)", "El Topo (1970)" etc.Plot: U.S Marshal Mike Donovan (referred to as Broken Nose by the native tribe; unlike in the comic he does not have the nickname Blueberry) has dark memories of the death of his first love. He keeps peace between the Americans and the natives who had temporarily adopted and took care of him. The evil actions of Blount, a "white sorceror" lead him to confront the villain in the Sacred Mountains, and, through shamanic rituals involving native entheogens, conquer his fears and uncover a suppressed memory he would much rather deny.
Subject Two (2006)
Another budget Sci-Fi film. This one with Frakenstein undertones. Requires thinking throughout.Plot: ... revolves around a medical student who is lured to a cabin far from civilization wherein he is repeatedly killed and reanimated by Dr. Franklin Victor, with use of a mysterious serum. The student eventually gains complete immortality, but as a consequence he loses the very sense of being alive, he can no longer feel things, including pain, and he no longer can have emotions. The student leaves Dr. Victor, only to become a walking ghost doomed to walk the earth for eternity.
Primer (2004)
